Vehicles that drive executive delegates to luxury hotels differ from those that take a loved one for a romantic dinner. Likewise, a vehicle that takes a family for a holiday in a park can never be the same as that you can take for a self-drive safari in Africa. However, regardless of the purpose of the trip, whether business, honey moon or wildlife, a strong and safe vehicle adds more fun to a safari holiday.

Toyota Land cruiser

These are one of the most popular 4×4 cars mostly used on safaris in Africa usually on a chauffeur driven safari, these vehicles are always appropriate and the Categories include the Land Cruiser Extended, land Cruiser 5-Seater, LX land cruiser, VX Land cruiser, GX land cruiser, Nissan Patrol and. They are upraised and never fail to access the un – accessible dirt roads of Africa.

Toyota Prado

This is one of the most popular 4×4 cars mostly used on safaris in Uganda. Whether a self-drive or a chauffeur driven safari, this vehicle would be appropriate. The Toyota Prado category includes Prado GX, VX, TX, TZ, and the 3-liter Turbo.

The Toyota Prado is a spacious vehicle, allowing enough luggage and camping gear to fit in properly and it’s still a perfect car for poor road conditions that travelers are likely to find on the way to some of the national parks in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda. These Prado carry up to five people including the driver.

Super custom/ Hiace Van/ Mini Bus

This is the most suitable car for family vacations or large group trips. They carry up to 14 people and the space for luggage is enough for it depends on the number of passengers and the days to spend on a safari because the more days, the more luggage. Some Super customs come with a pop-up roof. And these cars are available both in manual and automatic transmission. For any group safari in Uganda, these vehicles can never fail anyone.

Toyota Rav4

This one of the best Japanese automobile compact SUV. It is a strong comfortable car with 1990 cc engine, simply powerful enough to drive at any place. Toyota Rav4 has 3 to 5 doors and is available in both manual and automatic transmission. If it’s a gorilla tour in Uganda, a Toyota Rav4 would be best appropriate as it has excellent fuel mileage and low-cost maintenance. It is the most recommended vehicle for two people though it can carry up to five people and can be hired at as low as 45 USD per day.

Still other vehicles like coasters, range rovers and smaller saloon cars can be used for an African safari but the above are the most recommended ones especially for those going for self-drive safaris.
